Covenant Chapel is located a few miles south of Kansas City. On Sunday we offer Adult Ed classes at 9:00am and our Worship Service begins at 10:30am. We value Worship, Community, and Service, and believe that when these are pursued by the Church Gathered and the Church Scattered, we will see every man, woman, and child grow toward maturity as a follower of Jesus who loves God and loves others. Here's what you can expect if you visit Covenant:
Generally speaking, Covenant Chapel worship music is "contemporary". Music is led by vocalists, an acoustic guitar and a band comprised of a piano, bass, drums, rhythym guitar, keyboard, and occasionally a saxophone and violin. The song selection ranges from modern worship music from artists like Chris Tomlin and the David Crowder Band to classic hymns. Worship is primarily led by Jason Parr, Covenant Chapel's director of worship and creative arts.
At Covenant Chapel we celebrate communion weekly. If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, regardless of your denomination or church affiliation, we invite you to participate with us. At the appropriate time, during Sunday morning services, an usher will direct your row to stand and file toward the front of the worship center, where our communion servers are. When you reach the communion servers, take a piece of bread and dip it into the cup (we use grape juice in place of wine). You are welcome to consume the communion elements immediately after you've received them, or take them back to your seat with you.
Please feel comfortable to come as you are. On Sunday morning most people at Covenant Chapel wear something from jeans and a polo shirt to business casual. Few, if any, wear formal attire.
At Covenant Chapel, we have something for your entire family. Here are several options for you to consider:
Children and youth of all ages are welcome to attend our worship service. (For your convenience, a children's bulletin is availble and there is a "cry room" located at the back of the worship center). Childcare is available for infants and toddlers through preschool ages.
Children (birth through 5th grade) can participate in the Children's Ministry activities during the Classes hour.
Middle School students and High School students can participate in Student Ministry activities during the Classes hour.
All children and student activities are held on the downstairs floor of our facility.
